Sophie Jane

​Although I don’t take care of you while your mom is at work anymore, I do come over sometimes when she needs a nap before a work shift.   Yesterday I came right over after my temple shift.  You haven’t seen me wearing hair very often so I was interested to see if you would seem confused, but you didn’t bat an eye.  You immediately knew me and smiled when I came in. We spent time together reading books and playing with your snow globe. I then needed to run an errand and you came with me.  You looked so cute.  Everybody that saw you was commenting on how beautiful and adorable you are! We had a very happy time together!

​Two days ago was your mom’s 24th birthday! Because her birthday is so close to Christmas, I have always tried to make a special effort to be sure that she has her own special celebration apart from the family celebration.  But this year you guys will be spending Christmas with your Henry family so we decided to do both celebrations in the same day. I spent most of the day baking, cooking, cleaning, and decorating to make sure your mom was really celebrated.  She chose to have me make my Mexican Soup (enchilada soup base with chicken, corn, hominy and different types of beans) and “special cake” (a chocolate cake covered with a chocolate pudding and cream cheese layer and then a cool whip layer and then chocolate shavings on top.  We ate, laughed, opened gifts, then had cake.   I only put 6 candles on the cake — 2 and 4.  But your mom only blew out 4 the first try after we sang to her.  She then started laughing and tried to blow out the other 2.  But ...
