Staying with Nana

I am so grateful that my schedule is flexible enough that I will often get to watch you while your mom is at work. Aunt Adelaide moved out of our house and into her own apartment about 5 weeks ago. Aunt Lila then moved into her bedroom. And that left this bedroom open for me to turn into a nursery/guest bedroom. Here is what it looked like when Lila moved her things out. And this is how it turned out… I’m pretty much more prepared to take care of you than I was for my own children. I guess that’s one of the perks of being older. I think the room is darling. A Mobile

Ever since your eyes have developed enough to see more than about 12 inches, you have loved to look all around at the world around you. You love to see the ceiling fan and any toys dangling overhead. So, I decided to make you a mobile out of felt. I didn’t really know what I was doing, but I figured that I could fumble my way along. Your favorite animal so far has been a koala. I don’t know if it is just because of one particular toy. Perhaps you will continue to love koalas as you grow older. I don’t know. But as I was deciding what to make, I knew I wanted to do a koala…but what else? Your dad loves sharks, especially the hammerhead. Hammerheads live in the Great Barrier Reef so I decided to do an Australia themed mobile. It took me quite awhile to complete, but when I did, it brought me such joy to show it to you. Your reaction was better than I could have imagined. You smiled and coo-ed and followed the toys around with your eyes as if you were seeing the most wonder...
