Payson Scottish Festival

Your Grandpa J has a huge passion for bagpipes. I have a huge passion for family history. So together the two of us love everything about Scotland. We went there for the first time last summer and it was an incredible experience like nothing I’ve ever felt before. From the minute I saw Scotland before us from the plane I had an almost eerie sense that I was coming back to where I belong. I loved being there so much. I loved the nature, the architecture, the history, the small towns, the big cities…EVERYTHING! I hope that someday you will be interested in learning about your family history and that you will enjoy having me share these places with you. Anyway…no Scotland for us this year. 😭😭😭. But, your grandpa has been playing his pipes a lot. Last Saturday was the a Payson Scottish festival. He competed in some solos and also with his band. 4th of July

I was able to spend quite a bit of time with you on your first 4th of July. In the morning I came over to your apartment with Lila and Andre and we all went to the pool together. You and I didn’t swim, but everybody else did. But I was very happy to just be able to hold you while you napped. In the evening we had a cookout at my house. You were wearing a cute red onesie but I didn’t get any photos. After dinner we all went to the park to watch fireworks. I think you mostly slept thru them. But it was a joy to be celebrating your first Independence Day with you!
