Miles and Lila

​Dear Sophie, I want you to know that it is not just me that wants to be with you as much as possible, it is all of your family members!   Your aunts and uncles love you so much!  It is really cute to see your relationship growing with Miles.  You used to be fascinated by his braces, but he had them off now.  You two play a game where you bring your arms down and make a certain noise and he pretends it is like a force field that knocks him back.  He starts to get up or come forward again and you do the noise again.   You think it is hilarious.  And he is so cute with you!  He calls you “Baby Soph”.   Definitely your preferred auntie right now is Lila.  She spends the most time and is the most patient and caring.   She will play with you and read you books and change you and just all around takes good care of you.  She watched you by herself for the first time last week and you played so hard you eventually just fell asleep on h...

Time Flies!

​Oh my goodness!  My sweet Sophie Jane!  I love you so much!  I can’t believe it’s been 3 months since I last added to this blog.   And so much has happened!  One big one is that you are crawling! You enjoy going for walks outside in the back pack or the stroller. And you have begun showing genuine affection by giving hugs or leaning your forehead against somebody’s forehead to show them you love them.  It’s so sweet.  You are also more snuggly than you have been the few months.  You are learning to play games.  You like peak-a-boo and you are learning to eat all kinds of different foods. We all love you so so much and are grateful whenever we get to be with you.  Luckily last week I was able to watch you on 3 different days and it made me so happy!

Teeth!

​This morning your mom had to work and your dad had a golf clinic so I got to key you for a few hours.  My heart still hurts all of the time that your parents decided to have you go to a babysitter rather than having me be your nanny.  But I am grateful for any and all time that I get with you! The big news this week is that you have two teeth!  They are just breaking through on the bottom.  You can see them in these photos from today.  So cute!   You are also making a lot more babbling sounds.  I love you so so much!!!

Saturday with Nana & Lila

​These photos are still from our time together on Saturday 1/4/26.  Lila sat in the back with you and you guys laughed and talked (and you pulled your socks off).  We also went for a short walk.  You love to be outside!  But it was pretty cold so we didn’t stay out for long!

A New Year!

​Today is already 3 January 2026.  You are almost 8 months old!  Christmas went by more quickly than I can ever remember before.  We didn’t get to see very much of you because it was your year to spend with the Henry family.  We missed you, but I think you had a happy time with your Henry grandparents and aunties! Because tomorrow is Sunday and then Lila has to go back to school Monday and because your mom is at work all day, we asked if we could come pick you up and spend some time with you.  Lila sat in the back with you as we drove over here.  She made you smile and laugh the whole time.  She loves you so much!  And I know you can feel that and you love her, too! You haven’t been over here as much as you used to, so you’re not as used to sleeping here.  You were so tired this afternoon but did NOT want to fall sleep.  I was rocking you and eventually I walked into my closet where it was dark and you fell right asleep.  I’ve kept ...

While Mama Naps

​Although I don’t take care of you while your mom is at work anymore, I do come over sometimes when she needs a nap before a work shift.   Yesterday I came right over after my temple shift.  You haven’t seen me wearing hair very often so I was interested to see if you would seem confused, but you didn’t bat an eye.  You immediately knew me and smiled when I came in. We spent time together reading books and playing with your snow globe. I then needed to run an errand and you came with me.  You looked so cute.  Everybody that saw you was commenting on how beautiful and adorable you are! We had a very happy time together!
